Emmanuel Perrin takes over as Panerai’s new CEO

Panerai, the Florence-born luxury watch brand that commands a fervent following for its progressive, nautically inspired timepieces, has appointed a new CEO.

Emmanuel Perrin takes over from outgoing CEO Jean-Marc Pontroué, who has been at the helm of the brand since 2018.

Under Pontroué’s leadership, the 164-year-old company evolved with a spirit of adventure and experimentation, incorporating specially developed proprietary materials and high-end technical complications into its creations, and offering its top-end collectors exclusive experiences, such as Arctic expeditions and training with Navy SEALs for those who purchase its limited-edition Experience watches.

No doubt, Paneristis (the famed collective of Panerai fans worldwide) will be curious about the new direction of their favourite brand. One thing’s for sure, though: Perrin brings a wealth of experience to the table.

Boasting over 33 years of experience within the Richemont Group—the luxury conglomerate that counts the likes of Panerai, Montblanc, IWC, and A. Lange & Söhne among its stable of brands—Perrin leaves his role as the head of specialist watchmakers distribution to take over as Panerai’s CEO.

“It is with excitement and a deep sense of responsibility that I take the baton from Jean-Marc and the team that has contributed to the development of Panerai to this day,” says Perrin.
