Created in collaboration with the House of Suntory, Pop City x Pony is a reflection of the group’s love of community, craftsmanship and creativity
Mark your calendars. In less than a month (26 November 2025, to be exact), the award-winning Jigger & Pony Group is launching a new concept at 19 Cecil Street, right across from CapitaGreen. Created in collaboration with the House of Suntory, the vibrant and bold cocktail bar—Pop City x Pony—will build on the group’s vision in bringing like-minded people together through craftsmanship, creativity and conviviality.
Designed by Peter Sillings & Associates, a Hong Kong-based firm known for its work on Waldhaus Flims Wellness Resort (Switzerland) and Marina Bay Sands (Singapore), the space feeds on Japanese artistry and urban energy, as well as the music, fashion and subcultures that define modern Japan. The name “Pop City”, as you might guess, is an inversion of City Pop, the Japanese music genre of the ’80s, while the “Pony” bit ties the narrative back to the Jigger & Pony Group.
Steadfast to the notion that great bars are more than just watering holes, Pop City x Pony is envisioned as a cultural living room, unfolded across four distinctive zones of self-expression. Tasting Commons, for instance, is a vibrant hub for tastings and storytelling by day, and a lively space for DJs by night. Bar Mixtape, an inspiration of Tokyo’s Golden Gai bars, takes guests on an intimate listening journey with CDs and headphones.
As for the cocktails, they reflect Japanese artistry and creativity in equal measure, elevating familiar flavours with unexpected twists. Each drink—playful yet polished, expressive yet effortless—evolves by the sip, revealing new layers of taste and texture while being approachable to every palate.
“At Pop City, every cocktail tells a story,” says bar manager Sylvia Chong. “From the first sip to the last, each creation is made to spark emotion, whether it is nostalgia, excitement, or a sense of discovery. We want guests to leave with memories that linger, like a song that stays in your head long after the night ends.”
