The property is set to open in 2028
Shortly after the opening of Raffles Jaipur, the luxury hotel brand has just unveiled its first outpost in Japan.
French hospitality firm Accor, Raffles’s parent company, announced major plans to debut a new property in Tokyo’s Hamamatsuchō district. The forthcoming project, slated to open in 2028, is reportedly part of the redevelopment of the city’s World Trade Center. Once completed, the property will be nestled within the top 46 floors of the landmark building and feature 130 guest rooms plus 27 swanky suites.
“We are very pleased to welcome Accor Group, which operates a number of world-class hotel brands, as our partner, and to be working together toward the opening of the first Raffles hotel, one of Accor Group’s premier brands, in Japan,” said Hitoshi Nomura, president and CEO of real estate firm Tokyo Tatemono Co. “Together with Accor Group and the World Trade Center Building, we hope to create a new landmark in Tokyo and contribute to the creation of an even livelier international city and the enhancement of Tokyo’s international competitiveness.”
The new Raffles Tokyo will be close to all the major attractions in the city, including other notable landmarks such as Tokyo Tower, the Roppongi Museum, and Rainbow Bridge. The hotel is also near the bustling Hamamatsuchō station, making it ideal for business and leisure travellers alike.
Designed by Australia-based Layan architects, the property will sport sprawling views of the city. Inside, the hotel will be equipped with six food and beverage outlets, in addition to a state-of-the-art fitness studio, a large swimming pool, a world-class spa, and a bathhouse. Of course, if you are there on business, you can expect to find over 1,115 square metres of meeting spaces and facilities.
“We are very pleased to welcome Accor Group, a world-class hotel operator, as our partner,” added Chikao Miyazaki, president of World Trade Center Building, Inc. “Hamamatsucho is a major business hub in Tokyo, and with easy access to the Shinkansen bullet train and airport, it is an extremely convenient area for both domestic and international visitors. We are confident that the development of Raffles Tokyo in collaboration with Tokyo Tatemono at the landmark World Trade Center Building in Hamamatsucho will further enhance Hamamatsucho’s appeal and provide an even more special stay experience for both business and leisure travellers.”
