Life unplugged
Tried and tested, these Sennheiser PXC 550 Wireless Headphones let you bring excellent audio wherever you may roam. But don’t let its size fool you, the headphones can be compacted into a handy flat pack for easy stowage. Here’s to quality audio without compromise.
Crystal-clear speech
As with any Sennheiser product, superlative audio quality is a given, but the Sennheiser PXC 550 also delivers on the voice front, with three microphones to ensure you’re always heard, whoever you may be talking to. And you’ll also be able to hear them just as clearly, thanks to Sennheiser’s NoiseGard adaptive noise cancellation technology that constantly monitors ambient sound to ensure just the right amount of suppression is available.
Lengthy uptime
There’s only one thing worse than bad audio and that’s no audio at all. Thankfully, that’s something you won’t be getting too much of with the Sennheiser PXC 550. Its batteries last 30 hours, even with the active noise cancellation engaged, easily enough to power you through a return trip to even the most exotic locales.
Intuitive features
The Sennheiser PXC 550 is wireless, so that means it doesn’t come with an inline remote, but never fear, because touch-sensitive controls are located on the earcup, and audio prompts make for easy, no-look adjustments. Plus, music and calls are automatically paused and muted when the headset is removed, something Sennheiser calls Smart Pause. How’s that for smart?
Smartphone app integration
Once upon a time, wireless audio usually meant a big compromise in audio quality, but that’s certainly not the case with the Sennheiser PXC 550’s CapTune smartphone app. This enables on-the-fly adjustment of the headphone’s sound output and the SoundCheck feature allows back-to-back comparison of equaliser tunes. CapTune also allows for customisation of the adaptive noise cancellation, audio prompts and Smart Pause functions. Plus, it doubles as a high quality audio player.
Build quality
The Sennheiser PXC 550 is built for the rigours of world travel, so you best believe its build quality is as bulletproof as they come – there’s not much point in having headphones that sound great but fall apart in a month, is there? At any rate, the PXC 550’s rugged (yet beautiful) form has ergonomic earcups for comfort even after extended use.
