Soneva Jani’s latest expansion adds to an already-impressive line-up of amenities – covering all the bases for you
With Phuket now officially accepting visitors from July onwards, it seems like the travel industry is slowly but surely trying to rediscover a sense of normalcy again, with island resorts at the forefront of the effort. While it remains to be seen if other islands will reopen anytime soon, one thing’s for sure – the Maldives is the first place we’ll be heading to once they do.
Soneva Jani’s Second Chapter
Located on Medhufaru Island, Soneva Jani’s award-winning, sustainability-centred resort has announced an exciting lineup of new features, as part of its Chapter Two expansion. As part of the expansion, Soneva Jani will be adding to tits already-impressive portfolio of water villas, introducing new dining concepts, the Soneva Wellness Centre, and a fresh experience called Soneva Unlimited.
As with any other resort in the Maldives, the focal point remains the villa options on offer. In this regard, 27 new over-water villas have been constructed. Accessible via a winding jetty off the southern tip of the resort’s main island, they have been specially positioned to maximise privacy and enhance the sense of seclusion, all the while still providing unrivalled views of sunrises and sunsets.
Ranging from one- to four-bedroom options, each villa option comes with its own unique set of features, such as a retractable roof over the master bed, closed-off rooms for children, and slides that lead directly into a private lagoon, among others. As with the rest of Soneva’s villas, the new additions have been crafted in a sustainable manner, such as using Forest Council-certified woods and cutting-edge technology to reduce the environmental impact of construction.
A stay in any of the Chapter Two villas comes with a complimentary Soneva Unlimited experience, which, in short, means guests will pay a flat price for an all-inclusive experience. That means all food, excursions, experiences, spa treatments and even the service of a dedicated butler.
Wellness is another key feature of Soneva’s resort, so the launch of the new Wellness Centre comes as no surprise. Featuring an Ayurvedic Clinic and an open-air yoga pavilion, the centre aims to set a new standard in holistic wellness. As gastronomy plays a crucial part in wellness, Soneva Jani has also expanded the dining options on the resort. With restaurants opened by renowned chefs such as Mathias Dahlgren and and Diana von Cranach, guests can expect to be spoilt for culinary choice.
