Summer Hill’s brunch trolley allows you to enjoy the classics like Roast Chicken, Steak and Eggs, and for the kid in you, Mac and Cheese

Few restaurants in Orchard Road feel like home, but Summer Hill, once Sunset Way’s beloved neighbourhood restaurant, is now a regular haunt for the shopping district’s residents. Tucked away inside Claymore Connect, it retains its friendly bistro vibes and signature dishes, such as its herb Butter-Roasted and Buttermilk-Fried Chicken.

What should I order?

For the uninitiated, the best way to experience Summer Hill would be its new brunch trolley—a “French take on dim sum”, if you will. Available on weekends in two-hour seatings, what you will get is a smorgasbord of everything that’s a far cry from the usual brunch fare, doled out from a wooden trolley. There will be classics, such as Roast Chicken, Ham and Brie Sandwiches, Marinated Tomato and Ricotta, Mussels Normandy and Steak and Eggs done the way it should be; think tender steak onglet on creamy scrambled eggs… divine.

Beyond the classics, one can also look forward to juicy Pork Collar with a Thai-inspired sauce vierge, the freshest Macerated Peaches with Beans, and fried Brussels Sprouts, smothered in brown butter and crisp almond slices. The menu itself is extensive and the dishes offered aren’t limited to what’s on paper. Plus, there’s also the kid’s trolley to hop on, especially if you enjoy a good Popcorn Chicken and Bacon Mac and Cheese.

Each table will be served a full round of the menu before you can ask for repeats. Just make sure you have space for dessert, which includes Irish Stout Chocolate Cake, Warm Banana Bread and just for fun, a cup of syrup-laden shaved ice from the snow cone bar.

Enjoy one-for one cocktails daily from 11.30am to 7pm, and a corkage-free meal on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Summer Hill’s Brunch Trolley runs from 11am to 1pm and 1.30pm to 3.30pm on weekends. Priced at S$69 for adults and S$25 for kids (five to 12 years old), it includes free-flowing iced tea for everyone, but throw in an extra S$55 if you want unlimited glasses of Prosecco, red and white wine
