Designed by Smith-Clementi, the museum will be an integral part of OCVIBE, a 100-acre sports, entertainment and arts district
While the rest of the world has its eyes set on the United States this week, so does teamLab, specifically some 10,000 square metres in Southern California. The internationally celebrated art collective, known for its immersive worlds that bring art, technology and nature together, is opening its first permanent museum in Anaheim this 2030.
Designed around teamLab’s signature experience with architecture by Smith-Clementi, the museum will be an integral part of OCVIBE, a 100-acre sports, entertainment and arts district that will open in March 2027. Rather than being shrugged off as an amenity, it will be woven into the district’s master plan—its architecture, landscape and public realm—and designed to encourage continual exploration indoors and outdoors.

“For teamLab, through art, we seek to explore what perspective is and what existence is,” said founder Toshiyuki Inoko. “The artworks change with the presence of people, making them an integral part of the art itself. People immerse themselves with their entire bodies, transcending the boundaries between themselves, the artworks, and the world around them, becoming part of a borderless continuity.
“At OCVIBE… visitors share the same space, perceive the world anew through their bodies and share that experience with others. Here, we aim to bring to life this very experience that we continuously strive to create through our art.”
