The Feast, presented by US-based arts organisation 74tharts, is set to transform Singapore’s Chinatown into a stage where contemporary art, design, and gastronomy intertwine
Get ready for a sensory overload when The Feast comes to town. From 8 to 23 March, art aficionados and gourmands will have your spirits filled and palates satiated at The Feast’s series of events that cross-pollinates contemporary art and gastronomy, right in the heart of Chinatown.
Curated in partnership with Joyce Toh, a renowned independent curator who has worked with the likes of S.E.A. Focus Art Fair and Singapore Art Museum, The Feast showcases the work of 10 local and international artists from Italy, Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Australia. Their works will unfold through a series of curated dining experiences, exhibitions, and installations at some of Singapore’s hottest F&B establishments.

At The Feast, creativity is served on a platter
Throughout history, feasts have been more than mere meals—they have been celebrations, cultural milestones, and moments of connection. The Feast embraces this concept, transforming it into a multi-sensory artistic experience. From reimagining the traditional ‘four-hands’ dinner as an ‘eight-hands’ affair—where the chefs, an artist, and even the diners themselves take part (An Affair of Eight Hands Chefs at Path Restaurant on 10 March)—to an exploration of rice through art and mixology (A Sunday Soirée with Grace Tan at Native bar on 16 March), The Feast curates six inspired events designed to stimulate both palate and imagination.
A veteran curator’s vision brought to life
At the helm of The Feast is Joyce Toh, a distinguished curator whose influence on the arts and culture scene is undeniable. With over two decades of experience working with institutions such as the Singapore Art Museum, S.E.A. Focus, and Christie’s New York, her curatorial vision masterfully bridges fine art and everyday life. Toh’s past work includes co-curating three editions of the Singapore Biennale, where she championed emerging Southeast Asian artists and fostered cross-cultural dialogue. Now an independent curator, she brings her discerning eye and thoughtful approach to The Feast, weaving together a rich tapestry of artistic voices into a singular narrative.

Ten artists, fresh perspectives
Spanning multiple disciplines and mediums, The Feast features 10 artists, each offering a unique perspective on the intersection of art and dining. Representing Singapore are artists Chen Yanyun, Samuel Xun, and Grace Tan. Chen is a visual artist who invites diners to engage with food through touch—a nod to her fascination with hand gestures and craftsmanship. Meantime, Xun aims to create an evocative sensory journey through sculpture and textile compositions, and Tan explores the notion and use of rice in history, culture, and mixology.
The international lineup is equally compelling. Italian designer Matteo Cibic is known for his whimsical, anthropomorphic sculptures that merge functionality with surrealism, while Spencer Hansen blends multimedia materials to craft playful, otherworldly creatures. Other experiences staged by Karen Knorr, Robert Polidori, Wawi Navarozza, and artist duo Ken + Julia Yonetani bring diners on journeys that prompt reflections on societal rituals, sustainability, and more.
Unforgettable dining experiences await
Expect each dining event at The Feast to be more than just a meal; it’s an artistic performance in its own right. Diners will be treated to thoughtfully curated menus, innovative pairings, and immersive storytelling. From a Michelin-starred dinner to an interactive exploration of gestures and food, each experience is crafted to provoke thought and engage the senses. Restaurant Fiz lends its Michelin Green Star credentials to Sojourns of Salt, where dishes highlight salt’s role as both preserver and flavour enhancer while weaving stories of the Australian Murray River and the Malaysian archipelago. At Native, a bar renowned for its experimental fermentation techniques, the stage is set for A Sunday Soirée, where the alchemy of locally sourced ingredients sparks deeper conversations on transformation and craft.

It is part of a wider global artistic movement presented by 74tharts
The Feast is part of 74tharts’ mission to rewrite the rules of art and culture. Founded in 2023 by Becca Hoffman, a renowned New York-based art world professional with extensive experience running art galleries and organising art fairs, 74tharts previously staged immersive, nomadic art experiences in Aspen, Vienna, and Milan, captivating audiences with boundary-pushing exhibitions. The journey continues in Marseille in mid-2025, with an upcoming project that promises to merge local stories with international perspectives in an unexpected symphony of art, design, and community.
