In our weekly series, we bring you the latest in luxury news around the world. This week’s highlights: Anne-Sophie Pic’s restaurant reopens, Numarine launches its first hybrid superyacht and Dior’s New Essentials
Louis Vuitton makes history
Or a historical emblem, to be exact. The Louis Vuitton Montgolfière Aéro table clock, a celebration of history and legacy, is a gift of unparalleled elegance and one of the smallest timepieces ever created by the House. Designed as a hot air balloon resting on a Louis Vuitton trunk, this limited edition can be suspended from the ceiling in all its glory—golden brass hardware, diamonds and a mechanical movement with manual winding and calibre L’Epée 1855 LR.
White Desert’s double feature
For the avid traveller, there’s always so much to see and so little time—even more so when you’re a polar explorer. That’s now old news. For the first time in two decades, White Desert, Antarctica’s first and only aviation and luxury camp operator, is offering the chance to experience two of their camps in one trip. Over eight days, from 26 January to 3 February 2025, you and 11 other guests will be treated to an adventure of a lifetime, from ice climbing and meeting emperor penguins to basking in the heat of a sauna with a view of the glacier.
Rolls-Royce presents a new expression of luxury and power
The appeal of driving a Rolls-Royce is even greater in this powerful new expression of the Black Badge Ghost. As the most agile and driver-focused Black Badge ever, one will enjoy 603 horsepower and an uncompromising 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 in a high-power all-wheel-drive, all-wheel-steering chassis. Clients may also take advantage of bespoke coachwork, placed perforation (to create unique artwork in the leather seats), and Whispers, an exclusive digital platform of rare and exceptional experiences, tailored to your liking.
Anne-Sophie Pic’s restaurant reopens
Pic, a Swiss restaurant that’s been flourishing for 15 years, has reopened at the prestigious Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne. The work of Anne-Sophie Pic and her husband David Sinapian, the new space enters guests into a world of refined luxury, designed by architect Tristan Auer. From the dining room and bar to the terrace and garden, Pic embraces authentic materials such as wood and quartzite, crafted by the best artisans, making it the perfect canvas for a menu that mirrors Anne-Sophie Pic’s gastronomic identity. Inspired by the region’s historic beauty, the dishes pay homage to local produce, such as fera fish and Arctic char from Lake Geneva.
Numarine launches its first hybrid superyacht
Marking an exciting new chapter for the Turkish shipyard is the Numarine 30XP, an all-new superyacht with a diesel-electric hybrid propulsion. Designed with Scandinavian-inspired interiors and low-emission capability, the 30XP is a mid-sized beast that offers ample space, advanced technological features and thoughtfully laid-out accommodation. The master suite occupies the boat’s prime spot, boasting optimal privacy, a large dressing room and private balcony, while the four guest rooms on the lower deck benefit from natural light and plenty of seascape views.
Dior’s New Essentials
The New Essentials capsule, designed by Kim Jones, pays a revisit to men’s wardrobe essentials with must-haves and reinterpretations of the House’s symbols. Perfect for all occasions, expect a captivating collection of comfort knits, practical pants and casual jackets, punctuated with sophistication and graphically defined curves.
