Richard Mille’s RM 27-05 Flying Tourbillon Rafael Nadal

Last week, Richard Mille and Rafael Nadal launched the RM 27-05 Flying Tourbillon, marking 14 years of partnership since the original RM 027 was launched in 2010. The timepiece comes from years of evolution, with upgrades like a fully suspended movement and incredible shock resistance (12,000 gs) along the way. It now features toughness in the form of a Carbon TPT® B.4 monoblock case, and the brand’s lightweight record at 11.5 grams, making the watch the perfect second skin for anyone who lives for sports. It also features a power reserve of 55 hours, skeletonised movement and a manual winding calibre. Yours for US$1,150,000. Limited to 80 pieces.

IWC Schaffhausen unveils Ceralume® technology in the first fully luminous ceramic watch

For over four decades, IWC Schaffhausen has become quite an expert in making watches out of ceramic—a light and scratch-resistant material one can rough around with. We have seen major IWC ceramic innovations ever since, such as the colourful range of Top Gun timepieces, and most recently, the highly engineered and patent-pending Ceralume®, a luminescent ceramic with a fascinating glow; the Super-LumiNova® within enables it to store light for over 24 hours (if you’re ever kept in the dark for that long). Test it out in the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41, IWC’s experimental division XPL’s first fully luminous ceramic concept watch, and watch things glow.
