TAG Heuer and Ryan Gosling team up
Coming to theatres this 25 April 2024 is The Fall Guy, an action-packed film featuring Ryan Gosling, his thrill-seeking stuntman persona, and his TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph, as how a TAG Heuer partnership would go. The watch, described to be “bold and dynamic” by the brand itself, fits on Gosling’s wrist perfectly. “My character in The Fall Guy is a stuntman whose job is a matter of life and death—especially if the timing isn’t perfect,” says Gosling, who’s also its global ambassador. “When he’s forced to use his stunt skills in the real world, he needed a timepiece that can keep up and won’t let him down. There was no more perfect choice than the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph.”
Lederer debuts in Asia with an exclusive partnership
To celebrate the grand opening of Sincere Haute Horlegerie (SHH) at Taipei 101, Sincere Fine Watches has announced an exclusive partnership with Lederer, marking the watchmaker’s debut in Asia. This partnership, built on a shared appreciation for excellence and watchmaking, is set to redefine watch collecting with timepieces that tell more than just time—they want to tell a story. Bernhard Lederer, the man behind the brand, crafts watches that push the boundaries of mechanical watchmaking, watches that go beyond tradition. He’s taken a whole new approach to redesigning an entire watch movement, mastering the balance of chronometric accuracy and opening up a new chapter for high-level mechanical watchmaking. At SHH (including the boutiques in Singapore), one may embrace the Lederer story through its crown jewel, the Central Impulse InVerto. Limited to only 18 pieces, the InVerto merges tradition with visionary design, featuring inner workings on the dial side and a constant double chronometer.
Janu debuts in Tokyo
For those looking for somewhere to stay in Tokyo, give Janu a shot. The younger and more creative sibling to Aman just made its first appearance in Tokyo, the start of an exciting pipeline of 12 properties. Situated in the heart of Azabudai Hills, an up-and-coming neighbourhood, Janu Tokyo has 122 guest rooms and suites (its biggest would be the Janu Suite, with 284-square-metres of real estate), eight food and beverage venues, a 4,000-square-metre spa and wellness centre (this includes golf simulation and hydrotherapy), and Aman Essentials boutiques.
Rimowa celebrates Jay Chou
In the latest chapter of Never Still, Rimowa’s film campaign that defines travel as a catalyst for inner transformation, is the face of Jay Chou, the Maison’s newest global ambassador. The musician, rich in experiences and powered by a life in constant motion, offers a fresh perspective on the transformative power of travel, emphasising the “joy of spontaneity” and “boundless inspiration” that can be discovered. The film also features music exclusively composed by Hans Zimmer, who will soon be featured in another chapter of the campaign.
Tumi expands McLaren partnership
Expanding on an ongoing partnership with McLaren Racing is a new capsule collection by Tumi, designed in collaboration with the NEOM McLaren Extreme E Team. In the Tumi | McLaren Extreme Capsule, one can expect three innovative, high-performance bags—the Terrain Backpack, Throttle Duffel and Rally Sling—suited for the everyday traveller of all sorts. Constructed with state-of-the-art materials and boundary-defying techniques, the bags are all unlined, lightweight and water-resistant, complete with pops of colour that point to the British racing team.
Rolls-Royce gets fashionable
Fans of the carmaker’s deliberately minimalist revamp of the Ghost series from 2021 will be thrilled by the new Ghost Prism limited edition, rolled out in 120 units to commemorate Rolls-Royce’s 120th anniversary. Oozing a similarly sleek “post-opulent” design philosophy of the 2021 model, the Ghost Prism accents the stealth-wealth expressions of its predecessor—pared down grille, softer and less formal silhouette, and unobtrusively paintwork—with a touch of colour. Clients can choose between ‘Turchese’, ‘Mandarin’, ‘Forge Yellow’, and ‘Phoenix Red’, with the bold accents found on the lower bumper inserts, brake calipers and coachline. The hue is echoed throughout the interior of the car, including the 1,040 ‘stars’ in the bespoke ‘Starlight’ headliner.
Risis celebrates its 50th anniversary
Celebrating 50 years of innovation, Risis’ Spring/Summer 2024 collection dubbed 1974 encapsulates themes of celebration, revolution, love, and heritage. This collection, marking a significant milestone, represents a fusion of art and science, showcasing pieces that echo the brand’s legacy and modern appeal.
