BenRiach unveils something very old and very rare

The BenRiach Distillery, known for inventive and multi-layered Speyside whisky, just released its oldest and most exclusive expression to date—the BenRiach 1966 Cask Aged 50 Years. First filled with unpeated spirit on 21 September 1966 and aged in a bourbon cask, it is the distillery’s definition of ‘fruity’ and ‘refined complexity’. Yours for £25,000 at select global markets from June 2024. Only five will be available in Singapore.

Louis Vuitton Singapore at ION Orchard reopens

After an extensive renovation, Louis Vuitton’s ION Orchard store has been given a new lease of life. The space, filled with lofty ceilings, cutting-edge lighting and bespoke artwork, has been built to harmoniously blend Asian cultural influences with the brand’s iconic aesthetic. An art installation, for example, is fashioned out of sikkui plaster, a material traditionally used in Japanese castle construction, and there’s even unqiue Asian furniture crafted by the Indonesian-based Etienne de Souza.

Both men and women can look forward to a sophisticated world of ready-to-wear, shoes, accessories, leather goods, luggage, fragrances, watches and jewellery. But more than that, limited collectibles, such as the Treasure Trunk, Speedy 40 VIA Pharrell Williams and the Tile Trunk by Nicolas Ghesquière, will also be on display for the first time ever.

The Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid is awarded three Michelin keys

Just over a month ago, Michelin launched its first-ever hotel guide, awarding hotels across the USA, France and most recently, Spain, for excellence in architecture, service, personality, value for money and guest experience. The Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid, for instance, was just awarded three keys, making it the Spanish capital’s only three-key property. The luxury Belle Époque palace hotel, set in the famous Golden Triangle of Art of Madrid, is a pinnacle of style and luxury that’s home to 100 rooms, 53 suites, a new state-of-the-art wellness centre and some of the city’s best restaurants. This includes the celebrated Deessa by Spanish chef Quique Dacosta, which earned itself two Michelin stars just 18 months after opening.

Capoforte‘s first electric boat

In less than two years since the concept launched, Capoforte has unveiled the SQ240i, its first electric boat and a benchmark in electric boating. Designed by Christian Grande with a focus on comfort, the SQ240i features an extremely versatile layout, where the entire bow section can be transformed into a full-beam sundeck, and the large folding table can make room for additional cushion. Beyond aesthetics, the boat is powered by two engine options: the Molabo ISCAD V50 electric motor that’s high-performing yet efficient, or the 3.7kW Yamaha Harmo outboard propulsion system, another efficient system that guarantees easy manoeuvring, even in tight spaces.

Rimowa embraces the golden age of travel with Aimé Leon Dore

Good things happen when Rimowa and Aimé Leon Dore get together. Channelling the rich heritage of the German Maison and the classic elegance of the New York-based label, a collection has been unveiled to revive the golden era of travel from the early 20th century. The archival Rimowa Cabin Trunk (1964) and Trunk (1960s) serve as cornerstones for the collection—a chest (S$5,400) and cabin (S$3,710) that feature brown leather handles and straps, gold embossed badges and a bespoke nylon inside with Ancient Greek stamp iconography, a signature artwork of Aimé Leon Dore.
