The 6,600-square-foot luxury residence overlooking the Hollywood Hills enters the market after a thorough redesign
Stevie Wonder used to tickle the ivories in the music room of this sprawling 21st-floor Los Angeles penthouse when the Superstition singer-songwriter rented it in the ’90s and into this century.
Now, after a multimillion-dollar, money-is-no-object redesign and renovation, this remarkable 6,600-square-foot residence—with its massive 5,500 square feet of rooftop terrace—is on the market for US$21 million.
Villa del Cielo, as it’s known, sits on top of the Grand condo tower at 10445 Wilshire Boulevard, a stone’s throw from Beverly Hills. From its vast deck, you get helicopter views of the iconic Hollywood sign, the downtown Los Angeles skyline, the Hollywood Hills, and the Pacific Ocean in the distance.
“It’s a one of a kind. For anyone who loves to entertain, this is hard to beat,” James Harris, principal and listing broker at the Agency, tells Robb Report.
The two-year remodel—records show the home was last sold in 2021 for US$5.5 million—involved a down-to-the-studs renovation that lined the condo’s six bathrooms with travertine stone floors and walls and added 10-inch-wide European-white-oak flooring to the living areas, professional-grade Gaggenau appliances in the kitchen, and high-end lighting fixtures throughout from Australia’s Articolo Studios. Approximately 3,000 square feet of outdoor space was also added.
While there are just four bedrooms, the primary suite is truly decadent, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, separate lounge area, twin walk-in closets, and bathroom featuring a custom-made sculptural stone soaking tub.
