Club Med’s Green Week lets guests partake in sustainability initiatives while on vacation

With the increasing discourse on sustainable and ethical tourism, we’re seeing more and more travellers look for ways to minimise their footprint while still enjoying unique experiences. The trend isn’t lost on hotels and travel operators either, with many bolstering their eco-friendly initiatives and offerings. One such operator is Club Med, a French travel and tourism company with over 70 resorts in some of the world’s most desirable locations. Known for its all-inclusive getaways, Club Med is taking a significant step towards sustainability with its Green Week initiative, set to run from July 22 to 26.

Each day of Green Week, guests can participate in events focused on reducing waste. From upcycling workshops where you turn old materials into new treasures, to beach clean-ups that make the shoreline sparkle, these hands-on experiences make sustainability both fun and educational. Plus, there are educational conferences and guided tours that offer tips on how to waste less and live more sustainably.

For nature enthusiasts, the “Live the Wild Life” theme will be right up their alley. Through guided nature walks and educational workshops, guests will get to explore the rich biodiversity of their respective resorts. Added to that, guests will have the chance to “Stand in Solidarity” with local communities through various environmental initiatives. Backed by the Club Med Foundation, which has been active since 1978, this initiative includes projects that help vulnerable children, promote education, and protect biodiversity.  There will also be cultural experiences and workshops where guests can immerse themselves in the traditions of their destinations.

“Green Week is a fantastic opportunity to showcase Club Med’s dedication to sustainability and inspire our guests to join us on this journey,” says Rachael Harding, CEO of East, South Asia and Pacific markets at Club Med. “We believe in creating a positive impact on the environment and the communities we operate in, while providing our guests with unforgettable experiences that integrate sustainable practices.”
