Moncler and Rick Owens go avant-garde

As part of Moncler’s City of Genius, a world inhabited by extraordinary co-creators from the worlds of design, art and music, fashion designer Rick Owens taps into architecture, designing a demountable mountain refuge inspired by Charlotte Perriand lodging owned by his in-laws. With the help of Hugh Broughton Architects, the project integrates advanced technology for off-grid living and ease of transport, with thermally insulated panels for structure and warmth. There are also sustainable water and waste systems, and a coordinated clothing collection of soft, organic cotton long johns layered beneath duvet bodysuits, which can be zipped into cosy sleeping cocoons.
