Louis Vuitton Fashion Eye

More than just a series of books, Fashion Eye is a bespoke collection that celebrates craftsmanship and discovery through a photography exhibition in November

Louis Vuitton’s romance with travel began in 1854, when the maison started as a trunk maker and packer in Paris. At that time, journeys by train, steamship, and carriage defined how we travel today. Every trunk crafted was designed to turn each voyage into a luxurious experience, a philosophy that continues to this day.

Each season, Louis Vuitton celebrates the spirit and adventure of travel with the release of new editions for its Paris collection, honouring the house’s rich legacy through photography. This autumn, in conjunction with Paris Photo, the maison introduces two new titles to its Fashion Eye photographic collection.

In Sweden, Julia Hetta’s Polaroid snapshots capture a vibrant, wild yet familiar landscape with poetic delicacy. Meanwhile, in Rajasthan, Bharat Sikka’s photographs and collages challenge stereotypes and myths of a nation pulsating with energy.

The collection highlights the work of these talented photographers, as they explore themes like beauty, nature, and cultural identity through delicate, poetic compositions. These images portray regions, neighbourhoods, and cityscapes, each evoking a specific atmosphere or narrative, and challenge myths and stereotypes along the way.

More than a collection of pictures, Fashion Eye is a powerful expression of visual storytelling, an ideal reflection of the travel experience. Through both colour and black-and-white images, each book delves into stereotypes associated with each destination as well as scenes inspired by the maison’s heritage.

A diverse selection of large-format photographs, urban panoramas, natural landscapes, lively street scenes, and contemplative views, paints a comprehensive portrait of each locale, capturing its unique essence.

The collection offers an unexpected portrayal of each city or theme, complemented by biographical notes, photographer interviews, and critical essays. Thanks to innovative editorial choices, varying papers, bindings, layouts, and sometimes artisanal printing techniques, each volume becomes a treasured reference that combines contemporary vision with archival elegance.

Fashion Eye creates a new visual vocabulary that alternates between contemporary creativity and historic artistry. For Louis Vuitton, this collection is a personal journey through the art of photography, connecting the present with a storied history, to be showcased at Paris Photo, at the Grand Palais, from November 13 to 16, 2025.
