The French cognac house Martell ushers in the Lunar New Year with a 500-bottle zodiac release—paired with a festive, open-house-style pop-up at ION Orchard that blends craftsmanship, culture, and celebration
Maison Martell is ushering in the Year of the Horse with a release that speaks to both rarity and ritual. Unveiled for Lunar New Year 2026, L’Or de Jean Martell Zodiac Edition – Assemblage du Cheval is the latest in the house’s annual zodiac series, limited to just 500 individually numbered bottles worldwide. Crafted by Martell Cellar Master Christophe Valtaud, the blend draws from exceptionally old eaux-de-vie selected from past Years of the Horse—primarily sourced from Grande Champagne, the cognac region’s most prestigious terroir and Valtaud’s home ground.
Designed to enrich L’Or de Jean Martell’s signature profile without altering its essence, Assemblage du Cheval expresses the horse’s symbolism through structure and energy. The result is a cognac marked by vitality and depth: supple aromas of honey, candied fruit and florals give way to a palate of red fruit and blackcurrant, unfolding with controlled power, length and complexity.

Created in collaboration with Baccarat, the mouthblown crystal decanter is crowned with a deep red horse’s-head stopper and set atop a golden pedestal adorned with horseshoe motifs. The ensemble is housed in a wooden case, conceived as a sculptural tribute to the horse’s nobility and Martell’s long-standing ties with Chinese culture.
Complementing the release is The House of Martell, an immersive pop-up experience inspired by the Chinese New Year tradition of house-visiting. Open to the public with complimentary entry at ION Orchard’s B4 Indoor Atrium from 5 to 12 February, the pop-up invites guests into a curated journey through Martell’s heritage, complete with artist collaborations, calligraphy experiences, limited-edition tastings, bespoke cocktails, and festive treats.
In Singapore, L’Or de Jean Martell Zodiac Edition – Assemblage du Cheval will be available exclusively via Le Cercle, Pernod Ricard’s private client platform, with pricing disclosed upon request.
