Tod’s draws inspiration from the legendary boat once owned by John F. Kennedy, unveiling a summer collection for men and women dubbed Marlin
Fashion takes inspiration from many places, people, and environments, but it might be the first time a boat has played muse. At Tod’s, the 52-foot power cruiser used by the 35th U.S. President for relaxation and private meetings takes centre stage, becoming the anchor of a summer capsule. Aptly named Marlin—the vessel’s moniker—the collection doesn’t so much reference the boat’s aesthetic as its spirit: a life of simple, authentic pleasures. Think days at sea, conversations among friends, and the slow rhythm of summer, where conviviality meets a natural, timeless elegance.
“This relaxed and understated spirit bridges the Italian lifestyle, of which Tod’s has always been a global ambassador, and the refined yet relaxed attitude typical of Hyannisport and New England,” the Italian brand notes.

A collection for both men and women, the pieces sit comfortably between polished and relaxed. Nautical cues naturally appear, but never on the nose. Rather, they’re folded into the fabrics and finishes—technical materials softened with Tod’s signature leather—grounding everything with that familiar sense of savoir-faire. It’s fashion for the outdoors, anywhere between the sea and the city, or simply wherever summer takes you.
The palette stays close to nature. Greens and creams run through the collection, echoing the boat. Nothing overly styled or under-styled; subtlety and comfort are key here, blending with the polished aesthetic intrinsic to the brand.

One of the standouts, the Marlin Bomber, takes a leading role in this offering, perfectly embodying the overarching theme. Made from technical cotton, it’s practical without feeling technical. Soft nappa trims the pockets and collar, adding warmth and contrast, while a sailor’s knot on the zipper brings a quiet nod to the nautical world. It’s subtle, almost personal—a detail you’d probably only notice after wearing it a few times.
Elsewhere, the Marlin loafer brings one of Tod’s most familiar icons into a new place. The shape feels more relaxed, a little more contemporary, but still rooted in the brand’s history. The signature Gommino heel is still there, too, a small reminder of where it comes from.

Accessories carry that same lightness. A canvas-and-leather bag that can be customised with charms feels playful without looking contrived. A silk scarf printed with the Marlin motif adds a softer, more expressive touch—something to throw on as the day cools down. And the Greca Belt ties it all together, literally and figuratively: white and green stripes, all leather, quietly iconic in that very Tod’s way.
