The limited-time public experience takes place at Atipico Room #15, New Bahru, on 25 and 26 July 2026
When The Macallan enlisted David Carson to redesign its Timeless Collections range, the undertaking proved to be the most extensive and thorough exercise for the two frequent collaborators since they began working together in 2020.
Beyond a mere facelift, Carson reimagined the entire aesthetic code of the Timeless Collections. The packaging, labels, and bottles have all been rethought with a bold new visual vocabulary. Carson anchored his creative ideas to The Macallan’s six pillars — the Estate, Curiously Small Stills, Exceptional Oak Casks, Sherry Seasoned, Natural Colour, and Mastery — and expressed them through new motifs and compositions framed by his signature style, one that draws on poetic abstraction, collage-making, and dissonant typography.

“There’s no magic answer. At some point, you have to trust your gut,” says David Carson of his creative process.
Visitors to “The Macallan x David Carson: In the Studio” can now get a glimpse of the work behind this milestone collaboration. The experience unfolds across three chapters: Instinct, Mastery, and Craft. Instinct introduces guests to Carson’s intuitive way of working and his creative philosophy. Mastery is a gallery-style showcase pairing Carson’s works with expressions from The Macallan’s celebrated Double Cask and Sherry Oak collections. Craft closes the experience by demonstrating how Carson’s work, like The Macallan’s whisky-making process, remains rooted in human values, emotion, and discipline, and invites guests to take part in the process themselves.

“Carson’s approach to design mirrors many of the values that define The Macallan: patience, intuition, and an unwavering commitment to craft. Through ‘In the Studio’, we invite audiences to experience the creative thinking behind both exceptional design and incomparable whisky,” says Lai Ching Kok, managing director of Edrington, Southeast Asia & Pacific.
“The Macallan x David Carson: In the Studio” will be open to the public at Atipico Room #15, New Bahru, on 25 and 26 July 2026. Admission is complimentary, and guests are encouraged to register in advance to secure their place at this limited-time creative experience via this link.
