Louis Vuitton’s new Monterey Ceramic watches aren’t meant for your wrist

First presented at the Louis Vuitton men’s Spring Summer 2026 show, the two new Monterey ceramic watches take the form of charm tags, accessorising trousers

Bag charms are having a moment, fuelled in no small part by the Labubu craze. Louis Vuitton, though, is taking the trend somewhere a little more unexpected. Hanging something from a belt loop is nothing new, but the maison gives the idea a more considered, decidedly horological spin.

With their distinctive pebble-shaped case, in-house automatic LFTMA01.02 movement, and striking graphic details, these new watches embody the House’s boldness and contemporary elegance. Photo by Louis Vuitton

First shown at the Louis Vuitton Men’s Spring Summer 2026 show, two Monterey watches appear as ceramic charm tags, clipped onto the belt loops of two looks from the collection. It’s a playful way to wear a watch, but also a fresh take on one of the House’s more unusual timepieces.

The new watches follow last year’s re-edition of the Monterey in yellow gold, which revisited the LV I, Louis Vuitton’s first-ever wristwatch. This time, the familiar pebble-shaped case is rendered in ceramic, in either a bold green or glossy black.

The Monterey has always had an unconventional streak. Collectors’ nickname for the model nods to the 1988 LV II, a collaboration with Italian designer Gae Aulenti. For the new ceramic versions, La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton retains the distinctive shape while introducing its in-house automatic LFTMA01.02 movement and the graphic detailing that gives the watch its character.

Available next month, this Louis Vuitton Monterey Ceramic collection feels right at home beyond the wrist—part timepiece, part fashion accessory, and very much in keeping with Louis Vuitton’s penchant for doing things a little differently.
