Defender’s newest, darkest, and most extreme 4×4 made its Singapore debut at 67 on Scotts, the centrepiece of a two-storey celebration bridging heritage and tough luxury
Take a look in most people’s closets, and you’d see that black is usually a safe choice. But on the Defender Octa Black, it’s a full-on statement. The latest and most menacing version of the brand’s high-performance flagship made its Singapore debut over the last weekend of September, when it was unveiled to owners and enthusiasts at Defender @ 67 on Scotts.
The Octa already sits at the top of the Defender family, engineered for extreme performance on the road and well beyond it. The Black edition keeps that formula and adds extensive dark detailing and a more luxurious finish. The result gives the performance 4×4 a darker, more distinctive presence while keeping the all-terrain capability and composure that define the badge.

Reaching the car was part of the theatre; guests first walked through a visual history of Defender’s landmark expeditions and humanitarian work. They then stepped into a pared-back monochrome space where the Octa Black stood waiting, a fitting stage for a vehicle that wears the same palette.
Up a flight of stairs, the mood turned to culture. A curated library gathered books and objects on travel, exploration, and the marque’s history. In the next corner, a Vinyl Listening Lounge spun records by local and international artistes chosen for their trailblazing spirit. Invited guests closed the weekend at a chef’s table dinner by Ivan Brehm, chef-owner of Michelin-starred Nouri and the multidisciplinary space Appetite, with bespoke cocktails from 67 on Scotts.
“Defender is defined not only by its capability, but by the people and experiences that surround it,” said Garth Turnbull, Asia Pacific’s managing director at Defender. If this weekend is any measure, the brand is taking care of its community as carefully as it dresses its cars. Discover more about the Defender Octa Black here.
