The Michelin-starred French wine bar on Craig Road is offering breakfast classics, reimagined with a modern touch
New things are happening for Ma Cuisine, a gastro wine bar that’s been doing excellent work since 2018. Founded by Anthony Charmetant and Mathieu Escoffier, the one-starred Ma Cuisine is now serving breakfast, prepared with the same Michelin care and precision.
The Bonjour by Ma Cuisine experience, as it is known, is available on weekdays from 8am until 2.30pm. “For years, we have dedicated ourselves to working with the finest produce, refining our expertise in selection, importation, and execution,” share the co-founders. “With Bonjour by Ma Cuisine, we bring this same ethos to the morning and midday, creating a relaxed yet elevated dining experience.”

From its pet-friendly outdoor terrace to the red leather banquettes inside, diners are transported to a cosy Parisian bistro on Rive Gauche, complete with paper menu placemats and vintage crockery. Expect an extensive selection of classic French favourites reimagined with a modern touch, such as Croque Monsieur Truffe, an indulgent take inspired by Escoffier’s mother, and Quenelle de Brochet Sauce Nantua, a quintessential Lyonnaise dish made with creamed fish and a rich crustacean sauce. The Jambon Persillé also makes its return from Ma Cuisine’s first menu, a delight for anyone who enjoys parsley-infused ham sandwiched in aspic.
The menu also boasts a thoughtful mix of French wines, from the more renowned names to the lesser-known gems, such as Bandol, Lulu & Lucien Domaine Tempier 2020, a rare discovery from a producer known for its Mourvèdre-based wines. Diners are also welcome to explore the bar’s ever-evolving wine cellar of over 1,000 rare bottles, or to keep it simple with a French apéritif.
