Shine Bright
The 75th Golden Globes was unlike any other. What took centrestage was the #TIMESUP movement. This initiative saw almost all of Hollywood unite against sexual harassment. Vivid colours took a backseat as A-list celebs turned up in black to voice their support for the campaign. Naturally, this diverted the spotlight to an array of truly breathtaking jewels that we simply couldn’t keep our eyes off. We picked the top four celebs whose choice of bling made our hearts beat faster.
Sadie Sink in Chopard
We already know that the future is going to be bright for 15-year-old Sadie Sink. This is thanks to her role in popular Netflix series Stranger Things. In fact, things are already starting to look bright, quite literally. The young star glimmered in her getup of earrings in 18k white gold featuring pear-shaped pink quartz, rubellites and diamonds from Chopard’s Temptations Collection; a bracelet in titanium set with diamonds and rubies from the Red Carpet Collection; and two rings in 18k white gold bearing a heart-shaped diamond and round-shaped ruby from the High Jewellery and L’Heure Du Diamant Collection.
Jessica Biel in Bulgari
The Best Actress Nominee turned heads on the red carpet by showing up in a stunning black princess gown. But not without the help of some flashy stones from Bulgari. The actress delicately paired the brand’s 1950’s diamond earrings with bow detail (which we are completely head-over-heels with) with two diamond bracelets from the 1930s, all set in platinum. It’s a no-go without the Serpenti white gold pave diamond ring, of course.
Kate Hudson in Harry Winston
Another actress clad in black in solidarity with the victims of sexual harassment was Kate Hudson. She graced the event in a dramatic plunging sheer gown. But she didn’t stop there – the award presenter opted for the most visually arresting necklace of the evening. We’re referring to Harry Winston’s Secret Wonder Diamond, Sapphire and Aquamarine pendant in 30.01 carats set in platinum. Completing her ensemble was a pair of Vintage 1969 Winston Cluster Diamond Earrings in 23.12 carats. This, and a Radiant-Cut Yellow Diamond Ring in 20.80 carats set in 18k yellow gold and platinum.
Greta Gerwig in Tiffany & Co.
Any accessory can’t go wrong with an all-black ensemble. But actress and director Greta Gerwig knew how to pick the perfect jewels to match her elegant toga gown. And those jewels took the form of an archival Tiffany & Co. necklace in gold and diamonds. No less than jewellery maestro Angella Cummings designed the piece. The Hollywood star also embellished herself with a pair of Tiffany Victoria earrings in 18k gold with diamonds. To this she added a Schlumberger Vigne ring opulently bedecked with small, lustrous diamonds. We reckon that’s one way to bathe in diamonds, Gerwig.
