Lego Ideas Tintin Moon Rocket stands at just under 0.5-metre tall, and comes with your favourite characters dressed in spacesuits
Maybe think of it as a love letter to all fans of Tintin, Hergé’s courageous reporter who’s always on an adventure, whether it’s to Tibet, the Arctic or even the Moon. As part of Lego Ideas, a collectibles line inspired by fan creations, the iconic Moon rocket from Destination Moon (1959) and Explorers on the Moon (1954) is now a limited-edition Lego set.
Like any artist obsessed with all things mechanical and scientific, Hergé took cues from the Nazi V-2, right down to its chequered pattern, and consulted scientists and physicists in the building of a detailed model, before launching this twin volume of Tintin adventures. It was imagined over a decade before the first moon landing, and made history thanks to its unconventional design: three massive fins served as landing legs for a bullet-shaped body, dressed in red-and-white chequered overalls.

Available in Lego for the first time ever, the model was developed by a Portuguese creator named Alexis Dos Santos in close collaboration with the Hergé Foundation. The 1,283-piece rocket stands at just under half-a-metre tall, and comes with a team of six minifigures—good old Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus, Thomson and Thompson, Snowy and of course, Tintin himself—all dressed in orange space suits. A panel at the top of the rocket also reveals a hidden control room, large enough to hold a minifigure.
The Lego Ideas Tintin Moon Rocket is available for pre-order at US$159.99, before it hits stores this 1 April 2026. Featured photo by Lego
