In our weekly series, we bring you the latest in luxury news around the world. This week’s highlights: Moncler and Salehe Bembury drop a second collection, Loro Piana’s Lunar New Year capsule, and a new Dior Maison collection
TAG Heuer, the official timekeeper of Formula 1
TAG Heuer will be back as the 75th Formula 1’s official timekeeper, and for good reason. It is one of the most successful brands in history to be associated with Formula 1, being the first luxury brand to have its logo appear on a Formula 1 car in 1969, and the first to sponsor a team in 1971. This partnership embodies a shared philosophy that go beyond racing, through precision engineering, cutting-edge technology and an unbreakable commitment to beating your personal best.
A record year for bespoke Rolls-Royce cars
As the next step to Rolls-Royce’s commitment to creating complex and valuable luxury goods, an investment of over £300 million just got committed to the marque, extending its manufacturing facility in Goodwood. Following a record 2024 year for Rolls-Royce Bespoke, this extension will create additional space for the increasingly complex Bespoke and Coachbuild projects, and prepare the facility for a smooth transition to an all-battery electric vehicle future. Site preparation and landscaping work are now underway. Do also look forward to projects incorporating innovative materials and craft techniques never seen before on a Rolls-Royce car.
Anantara in Koh Samui gets a makeover
New year, new look. The Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort just began 2025 with newly refurbished rooms, unveiled after a US$2 million four-week renovation. The transformation includes a comprehensive room redesign, prioritising space, light and natural elegance. There will also be an introduction of a brand-new Kids and Teens Club and Technogym fitness facility, both to be launched by the second quarter of the year. A stay at Anantara Bophut will begin at S$250 a night, including breakfast and daily activities, such as yoga, pilates, stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking.
Moncler and Salehe Bembury drop a second collection
Following a debut Genius collection from last year, Salehe Bembury has returned with a new Moncler Équiements capsule with his distinctive geomorphic aesthetic, distilling his trademark style in bold new iterations for spring/summer 2025. The collection includes a tonal white Trailgrip Amoeba, a trail-to-city sneaker that leans into the brand’s outdoor-terrain core with a moulded cage, carbon fibre footplate; and new Amoeba Utility bags that continue Bembury’s deep dive into Moncler’s mountaineering heritage.
Loro Piana’s Lunar New Year capsule
As a way to pay homage to the Year of the Snake, Loro Piana has a new capsule built around iconic items, reimagined for the occasion. The capsule features the Loro Piana Bomber in seven renditions, such as merino shearling and silk wool, for instance; the Baseball Cap embellished in snake-inspired motifs; the timeless Grande Unita scarf; White Sole Shoes; Extra Bracelets; Extra Pocket bag in brown tactile shearling.
A new Dior Maison collection
There’s a new Les Gris-Gris de Monsieur Dior collection launching this 7 February 2025, with poetic and joyful earthenware creations thought up by Cordelia de Castellane, the artistic director of Dior Maison, Tableware and Home & Gift collections. Look forward to plates, tea and coffee sets, a tray and trinket bowl punctuated by eternal symbols—a star, clover, bee and rose—and celebrate the magic of the art de vivre that’s dear to the founding couturier.
