A tribute to McLaren’s ninth Constructors’ Championship win, the MCL38 Celebration Edition Artura makes its first Southeast Asia appearance, offering a rare fusion of hybrid performance and motorsport heritage

There’s something about a McLaren that feels a little bit like cheating—especially when it’s a car built to commemorate a championship-winning season. Fresh off the marque’s ninth Constructors’ Championship victory in Formula 1, McLaren Singapore has unveiled the MCL38 Celebration Edition Artura, a machine that’s as much a trophy as it is a supercar.

Making its Southeast Asia debut at ION Orchard from 7 to 11 March, this ultra-exclusive Artura celebrates McLaren’s return to the top of motorsport with a bespoke livery, championship detailing, and a touch of papaya orange nostalgia. Only nine examples of the Artura will be produced worldwide, mirroring the brand’s nine Constructors’ Championship victories, and just one Spider variant will be available in Singapore.

Like the MCL38 Formula 1 car, both the Artura and 750S have been decorated with awards in 2024 and owners of the Celebration Editions will be able to experience the astonishing performance of a McLaren supercar. Photo by McLaren

Racing pedigree and road presence

Visually, the MCL38 Celebration Edition Artura doesn’t just wear its motorsport inspiration on its sleeve; it’s shouting it from the rooftops. The car’s Papaya Orange and Anthracite colourway is a direct nod to McLaren’s F1 livery, while Champions’ Laurel motifs and Nine-Star logos leave no doubt about what this car represents. The bonnet stripe, brake calipers, and 12 o’clock steering wheel marker are all finished in McLaren’s signature orange, a subtle but potent reminder of what the brand has achieved on the track.

Inside, things get even more exclusive. The carbon fibre extended sill cover on the driver’s side is personally signed by McLaren Formula 1 drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, while the headrests are embroidered with the Champions’ Laurel logo. The pièce de résistance? Each car carries a dedication plaque embedded with a genuine section of carbon fibre bodywork from the 2024 MCL38 Formula 1 car—giving every owner a literal piece of McLaren’s championship-winning history.

Uncompromised hybrid power and performance

Beneath the motorsport flourishes, the Celebration Edition Artura remains a formidable machine. Powered by McLaren’s 3.0 litre twin-turbocharged V6 hybrid powertrain, the Artura delivers 671bhp and 720Nm of torque, catapulting from 0 to 100km/h in just 3 seconds. The Spider variant offers all this performance with the added thrill of open-top driving–what’s the point of a celebration if you can’t feel the wind in your hair?

McLaren’s obsession with lightweight materials remains front and centre. The Artura’s carbon fibre monocoque and electrified powertrain make it one of the lightest hybrids in its class—ensuring that every flick of the steering wheel and stomp on the accelerator is met with razor-sharp precision.

The ultimate collector’s item

With only nine examples of the Artura and nine of the 750S available worldwide, the MCL38 Celebration Editions are destined to become instant collector’s items. Each car comes with a bespoke track record plaque listing the pole positions, race wins, and fastest laps recorded by McLaren’s MCL38 F1 car during its dominant 2024 season.

For Singapore’s discerning petrolheads, this might be the closest thing to parking a championship trophy in the garage—if they can get their hands on one.

The MCL38 Celebration Edition Artura will be on display at ION Orchard until 11 March, offering enthusiasts a fleeting glimpse of McLaren’s latest tribute to motorsport excellence before it disappears into the hands of the fortunate few.
