Montblanc enters a new realm with the Digital Paper and Digital Pen

By Robb Report Singapore 15 October, 2025

Developed with Fuseproject, the Montblanc Digital Paper and Pen makes e-ink writing a beautiful thing—almost as beautiful as traditional penmanship

As long as Montblanc is around, the functional act of writing will never be a mundane one. Functional yet sentimental, bold yet sophisticated, every Montblanc pen is a lifetime companion that inspires one to leave their own mark with passion and purpose.

The luxurious experience it brings to paper can now be enjoyed digitally. Hoping to surpass the ranks of Amazon and reMarkable, Montblanc has launched its new Digital Paper, an E Ink tablet accompanied by its Digital Pen, which, if all goes well, could leapfrog to the upper crust of the digital paper market.

Developed with Fuseproject, the Digital Paper, designed with a handsome leather grip that doubles as a magnetic charger for the pen, has the heft and feel of a luxury product. The pen, on the other hand, draws plenty of inspiration from the Meisterstück, the 1924 fountain pen that Montblanc’s so synonymous with. Loyal fans of the iconic writing instrument would notice the crowning emblem and the three metal rings.

Together, they work magic. Three interchangeable pen tips—smooth, linen and matte—offer a variety of writing experiences, depending on the texture and feel that you want. In the mood for a fountain pen or ballpoint pen on notebook paper? You got it. With a high-resolution e-ink display that replicates the realistic feel of paper and your unique handwriting, it will be almost as tactile and real as you can imagine.

And like any old-fashioned paper notebook, the Digital Paper is purpose-built without distractions. It comes with no apps, browsers or notifications, allowing you to focus on the task at hand, whether it’s note-taking, journalling or annotating a PDF, before stashing it away on the device or the Montblanc Cloud.

The Montblanc Digital Paper (S$1,280) is available in Mystery Black, Elixir Gold and Cool Grey; the Digital Pen (S$390) is available in Black, Grey and Ivory
