The new rose gold Streamliner boasts a jade dial that comes straight from Wyoming
We’ve already predicted that this year we’re going to be seeing watchmakers up the ante in terms of dial design, whether it’s the use of colour, texture, or interesting materials. Well, here you have it—Moser is early to the game with a stunning new version of its popular Streamliner complete with a gorgeous jade dial and a flying tourbillon complication.
Stone dials are actually a relatively recent development in the world of horology. They first began appearing in the 1960s and quickly became all the rage. We’ve seen Moser play with stone dials in the past, including one in jade as well as lapis, both of which featured a unique tantalum case design. This time, we get a much warmer and bolder jade dial from the brand that’s complemented by a rose gold case and integrated bracelet.
For the new Limited Edition Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Wyoming Jade, the dial is the star of the show—in two ways. First, of course, we have the jade, which has been sourced straight from the ground in Wyoming and left untreated to retain its authentic character and raw beauty. The intensity of this particular jade is extremely rare and was specifically chosen for the depth it adds to the dial.
This handsome, olive-tone jade provides an ideal canvas for the flying tourbillon at six o’clock. Powering the complication is the automatic HMC 804 caliber, equipped with a double hairspring. Thanks to this pair of matched hairsprings, the movement of the point of gravity on each spring is corrected when it expands, and the impact of friction is reduced, resulting in greater accuracy. Moser’s Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Wyoming Jade is available today in a limited run of just 100 pieces, priced at US$119,000 each.
