The Winston Garden Afternoon Tea transports you and Mommy Dearest into an enchanting flower garden where fresh blooms meet the timeless romance of precious stones. Think budding lilies, sweet roses, cheerful sunflowers, and captivating forget-me-nots. Close your eyes, and it’s like you’re dining at Mr Winston’s distinguished private estate.
But open them and it’s not too bad either. One could do a lot worse than be surrounded by the sophisticated light-bathed interiors of The Landing Point, plus a stunning view of the Marina Bay waterfront. And that’s just the beginning of this exclusive experience co-hosted by The Fullerton Bay Hotel.
On the menu is a tantalising parade of teatime creations curated specially for Harry Winston by executive pastry chef Siddharth Prabhu who drew inspiration from nature’s beauty. Crafted in vibrant yet harmonious hues, they feature a fresh palate of seasonal floral and fruity flavours.
The Mango Lime Mousse and Pineapple Compote on Sable Breton and the Sicily Pistachio Financier with Mascarpone Mousse and Ivory White Chocolate are definite must-tries.
Meanwhile, the savoury line-up includes perennial favourites such as Scottish Smoked Salmon with Mascarpone Cheese and Mango, as well as Classic Cucumber Sandwich with Vine Tomato.
But of course no afternoon tea session is ever complete without scones, which The Landing Point serves in classic and raisin, with the requisite jam and clotted cream. Tea is a fine selection from TWG, while coffee is also available for militant leftists.
The hotel has also created a mocktail for the occasion aptly named Garden in Spring. Not included in the set, it is a chamomile-infused Seed Lip Grove 42 with a splash of fresh lime and strawberry extract, topped with a single lavender sprig, which we highly recommend.
Round the session off with a stroll along the Harry Winston show window to catch some of the jeweller’s most iconic designs.
Continually inspired by florals, Harry Winston’s most memorable pieces include the Forget-Me-Not ruby ring, its magnificent Sunflower collection, and of course the timeless and emblematic Winston Clusters. As it turns out, diamonds and desserts do make a perfect pairing.
