Kimberley Snapshot with True North

Australia is beckoning visitors to #UndiscoverAustralia in its latest tourism campaign, and adventure cruise ship True North has just the ticket. The 18-cabin True North offers adventurers a slice of Australia’s picturesque beaches, reefs and waterfalls. Its Kimberley Snapshot itinerary includes views of the iconic King George Falls, Prince Regent River, Montgomery Reef and Horizontal Waterfalls.

The journey starts at Broome, where you’ll enjoy a cocktail and welcome dinner with fellow guests before departing to Yampi Sound, where you’ll dock for the night. During the week, you’ll fish, join naturalists for a river expedition, explore reefs and catch glimpses of dugong and manta rays. There’s also the opportunity for hiking, birdwatching, catching mud crabs, and the option to board a scenic helicopter flight (at additional cost) as you manoeuvre through King Cascade.

And despite the ship’s size, its shallow draft (it draws at just 2.5m) means you’ll get to sail to places larger ships can’t. The six adventure boats on deck will further allow up-close encounters with wildlife and the flexibility to take part in activities that pique your interest.

When night falls, it’s time to whip out your camera and capture the Milky Way in its full glory. With zero light pollution, you can expect to fall asleep under a blanket of stars every night.

Guests can choose from six departure dates in 2019. Total buyouts are also available. Expeditions start on 4 May and the final trip comes to a close on 24 August. As an added incentive, Robb Report readers will also receive a complimentary bottle of champagne upon arrival.
