Panerai offers two historically grounded Radiomir references along with an immersive Italian itinerary that retraces the Florentine watchmaker’s past
Who knew that a seemingly nondescript boutique in Florence would be so pivotal in shaping our appreciation of robust, military-inspired timepieces? Panerai, the Italian marque that has long enticed us with watches that conjure images of naval adventures and intrepid heroes, is marking the centenary of its storied Piazza San Giovanni boutique with a proposition that extends beyond the wrist.
The new Radiomir Viaggio nel Tempo Experience Set links two limited timepieces to a curated Italian journey designed to revisit the brand’s formative chapters. Besides being proud owners of the commemorative sets, these staunch Paneristis will be invited to a once-in-a-lifetime trip down Panerai’s memory lane.

Scheduled for 15 to 18 September 2026, the programme begins in Florence, where participants will explore the maison’s roots through a dedicated exhibition. The itinerary then follows the path of the Italian naval commandos, from historic training grounds near the Serchio River to the COMSUBIN base in Porto Venere, culminating in a yacht excursion along the Ligurian coast. More than a sightseeing tour, the experience invites collectors to step into historically significant settings and uncover the stories that have shaped Panerai’s watchmaking ethos.

As for the watches, Panerai spares no expense in imbuing them with heartfelt nostalgia. The set comprises two Radiomir models, both housed in 47mm cases. The PAM01729 in bronze—a material that takes on a unique patina over time—features the brand’s distinctive ‘California-style’ dial with a combination of Roman and Arabic hour numerals, and is powered by the hand-wound P.3000 calibre with a three-day power reserve. Vintage cues continue with wire lugs, a domed Plexiglas crystal, and burnished blue hands set against a black dial.

Its companion, the PAM01730 comes in a Platinumtech case, an exclusive alloy made with 95 per cent pure platinum that makes it much hardier than regular platinum, and 33 per cent heavier than regular gold. Constructed with a domed Plexiglas crystal and a cushion shaped silhouette with slim wire lugs, the watch’s vintage allure, too, is strong.
From the back, one can appreciate the P.3001/10 movement with skeletonised bridges that grant a full view of the calibre’s architecture. Limited to 30 sets and presented in a mahogany case, the Radiomir Viaggio nel Tempo Experience Set will be available from June 2026.
“The set offers our clients an immersive entry into the very genesis of our legend. Together, the two new watches not only perpetuate heritage within contemporary design timepieces but also testify to Panerai’s unwavering faithfulness to its origins,” says Alessandro Ficarelli, Panerai’s chief marketing and product officer.
