Robb Report Singapore donates S$10,500 to The Red Pencil

For a cause

It wasn’t too long ago that we celebrated Christmas and welcomed 2017, mulling over the past year’s list of resolutions that included doing our bit to make the world a better place.

As part of our Ultimate Gift Guide last year, Robb Report Singapore curated two Christmas trunks to be auctioned for a cause. Themed Naughty and Nice, each was filled with gifts worth over S$10,000, and included goodies from the following sponsors: Atelier Swarovski, The Scarlet Singapore, Muhle, Tumi, Frederique Constant, Remy Martin, Radium Medical Aesthetics, Fragrance Du Bois scent and Akaryn Hotel Group properties.

While the Nice trunk was auctioned during a private dinner, the Naughty trunk was placed online for auction as part of our Christmas campaign. Both trunks fetched a total of S$10,500, which was donated to The Red Pencil, a non-profit organisation that teams up with other foundations to help children and their families cope with difficulties such as natural disasters and long-term illnesses through art therapy.

The money raised will fund The Red Pencil’s project in Kampala, Uganda. In partnership with Pearl Community Empowerment Foundation, both teams are reaching out to young girls and women from rural villages who are victims of trauma, neglect and abuse. In particular, The Red Pencil will be sending four professional arts therapists to lead group arts therapy sessions, helping women express their emotions in a safe space and empowering them through art as they rebuild their self esteem.
