Expanding on the authentic flavours of Kotuwa, Station by Kotuwa is a one-stop spot for contemporary Sri Lankan fare, with unexpected flavour profiles along the way
The low-down
Opened in March along Boon Tat Street, Station by Kotuwa is the offshoot of the ever-popular Kotuwa, a delicious tribute to chef Rishi Naleendra‘s heritage. Named after a key transportation hub in Rishi’s hometown and likely to be just as busy, the restaurant can be found in the same space that previously housed Fool Wine Bar, Cheek Bistro and if memory serves you well, Cheek by Jowl. Similarly to Kotuwa, it will showcase a mastery in Sri Lankan fare, but with an entirely different menu, space and vibes.

The food
Whether you’re here for a date night or quick bite at lunch, Station at Kotuwa will be sure to please. Designed in collaboration between the culinary team, the menu expands on the bright and authentic flavours already established at Kotuwa with exclusive, brand-new items. Sri Lankan but contemporary, derived from unexpected ingredient combos and cross-cultural techniques, dishes range from snacks like Babath Crispy Tripe and Mutton Rolls, to mains like Braised Beef Cheek in a blackened coconut gravy and Roasted Half Chicken with devilled butter. Order à la carte or take a chance and go for the Station Feast, a set of must-haves decided by the kitchen.

The rest
Dessert, though limited, hits the spot with both the Valrhona Chocolate Biscuit Pudding and Arrack Chantilly, and the Falooda, a popular cold sweet treat made sweeter with vanilla ice cream and pistachio. Do also keep your eye out for its artisanal arracks, cocktails and incredible wine list, which features labels from biodynamic and organic wineries and lots more.
