The Garcha Group proves that privacy, co-living and on-demand services are not mutually exclusive concepts
There’s nowhere like home, but there are certainly ways to assuage the feelings of homesickness when you are away. We are guessing not having to do their own chores helps for most people. Having nice neighbours is a big plus, too – and getting to know them is so much easier over drinks in a swanky bar than through small talk in an elevator.
Encapsulating all the elements one could wish for in the ultimate home away from home is MyPoshPad, a new concept by Satinder Garcha’s Group, which will launch in April this year. Touted as Singapore’s first luxury co-living club, it aims to offer an elevated accommodation experience for long-term visitors who are on extended stays of 30 nights or more. From just S$3,600 per month, members will receive access to the hospitality group’s portfolio of four boutique hotels – The Vagabond Club and Duxton Reserve, as well as two upcoming properties, Maxwell Reserve (previously known as Six Senses Maxwell, and set to open by the last quarter of this year) and Serangoon House (debuting in the first quarter of 2022).
Here’s where the lack of chores come in. Membership includes exclusive benefits such as daily breakfast, laundry, full housekeeping services, and a 24/7 concierge. In addition, members enjoy complimentary gym and spa entry, morning yoga sessions at Max’s Rooftop Bar located at Maxwell Reserve when it opens, and – also at the same property – access to the Cook & Tras library, which houses a collection of more than 3,000 books. They’ll also receive preferential rates at the 10 dining spots housed across the four hotels.
As for meeting the neighbours, The Garcha Group has a calendar of social events planned where members may mingle. Attend weekly talks and social hours at Anouska’s, the glamorous bar at Duxton Reserve, or go for a Saturday night movie session at The Vagabond Club. Here is also where discerning imbibers may visit The Whiskey Library and its extensive collection of more than 1,000 rare whiskies, and get an exclusive alcohol locker in which to store their favourite bottle.
This year also marks the year all four of The Garcha Group’s hotels will join the Marriott family. Duxton Reserve and Maxwell Reserve fall under Marriott’s Autograph Collection, while The Vagabond Club and Serangoon House can be found in the Tribute Portfolio. All MyPoshPad residents can thus expect to receive complimentary Marriott Bonvoy membership. Unlocking the Lifetime Elite status, the highest tier in this loyalty programme, gives holders benefits across Marriott’s entire collection of properties without the limits of expiration dates.
