At Strathisla, Chivas Brothers’ historic home in Speyside, The Vault welcomes a select few on a journey where rare casks are discovered, profiled, and personally owned. Fourteen casks of singular character and provenance that are at rest behind those doors are now being presented to discerning collectors.
This is not a tour, but a conversation between palate and craft. The day begins with a private walk through Strathisla, followed by a guided tasting with Chivas Brothers’ experts in The Vault’s whisky library. From 240 exclusive samples (think high-aged distillates, to one-off rarities, and iconic Speyside single malts), you refine your preferences, then enter the chambers for a final dram before choosing your cask.
Guidance is exact and personal. Sandy Hyslop, director of blending and inventory, and Kevin Balmforth, cask expert, bring with them decades of experience in assessing a vast inventory to surface casks of individuality and long-term potential. For some, that may mean The Glenlivet or Longmorn; for others, perhaps the rarity of a closed distillery such as Caperdonich. In every case, the result is a whisky that reads like a biography—yours—shaped by time and oak.
Ownership is also stewardship. A chosen cask may be kept in The Vault for up to four additional years of maturation before bottling, as flavour deepens and texture evolves. Each experience is fully bespoke and begins from £1,200 per guest.
In Southeast Asia, entry is through Le Cercle, Pernod Ricard’s invitation-only circle for VICs (very important clients). Here, intimate Vault-inspired tastings and experiences echo Strathisla, timed to cultural milestones and hosted at leading venues.
