In our weekly series, we bring you the latest in luxury news around the world. This week’s highlights: Dior Addict pays lip service, MaxMara’s LeatherCube Bag and Fred, The Sunshine Jeweller
Gergely Bogányi plays it right
Hungarian pianist Gergely Bogányi leads the way in a new era of classical music, marrying modern innovation with centuries-old tradition in two handcrafted piano models—the Bogányi Grand Prestige B-262, the flagship model and full-sized grand concert piano, and the Prestige B-292, a smaller concert piano. Known for its exceptional craftsmanship and loved by musicians across the world, Bogányi’s sleek and curvy pianos stand out among the more traditional designs. They also feature a new innovative carbon core centre plate, which reduces the total weight by 200kg and improves stability, clarity and range, making the musical experience wonderful for both performer and audience. Pianos are available for sale worldwide, with prices beginning at US$300,000.
Lip service
Dior Addict, an icon of high-shine lipstick, is both fashion accessory and tool for expressing femininity. Reinvented this season with five new shades, it combines pastels with colourful, pop tones, and everything you need for lip care—jasmine wax comforts and maintains hydration, while plum oil nourishes the lips. The 90 per cent natural-origin formula offers up to six hours of wear without weighing you down. Available in its iconic black lacquer case and three new limited-edition cases, each inspired by trending designs of the House.
MaxMara’s LeatherCube Bag
Here’s a bag for people who want to keep their wardrobe minimal. The new MaxMara LeatherCube bag is a timeless beauty, where rich and lustrous leather is handcrafted by Tuscan artisans and turned into something quite irresistable. Inspired by jewel boxes, each bag is sculpted into shape via a wooden mould (and 30 key steps), and detailed with magnetic closures and discreet hardware for minimalist simplicity. Available in three styles and five different sizes.
An icon renewed
Girard-Perregaux’s iconic timepiece, which entered the watch scene in 1975, is back with a new expression—the Laureato Chronograph TI49. For the first time, Grade 5 titanium is introduced to the intricate case design, making it light, corrosion-resistant and hypoallergenic. Other features include a titanium triple-folding buckle, self-winding mechanism and power reserve of 46 hours. Yours for US$19,400.
Small dog, big attitude
The chihuahua, a small dog with a big attitude, makes an appearance on leather in Bimba Y Lola’s limited-edition series of Chihuahua Bags. Designed in collaboration with Ana Leovy, an artist and illustrator based in Cancun, the dog is turned into a half-human, half-dog mythical creature, channeling the chihuahua spirit in all its glory: fierce, peculiar and when you’re lucky, friendly. The collaboration kicked off at the Contemporary Art Fair in Mexico Zona MACO in February.
Fred, The Sunshine Jeweller
For 90 years, founder Fred Samuel’s love of light and life has been the backbone of Fred’s identity as “The Sunshine Jeweller”, an industry leader of unparalleled savoir-faire and technical expertise. Channeling the same visionary spirit, The Sunshine Jeweller campaign invites you to embrace the joy and beauty of life on the French Riviera, from cruising along picturesque roads to jumping off cliffs into the deep blue. Each moment is a precious gem, as precious as its creations.
