Tiffany & Co. just dropped its newest Bird on a Rock jewellery collection

By Nicole Hoey 8 September, 2026

Tiffany & Co.’s September is off to a dazzling start

The jeweller has just unveiled its latest creations inspired by the house’s famed Bird on a Rock brooch, which was brought to life by Jean Schlumberger back in 1965. You can expect both a fine-jewellery and a high-jewellery selection, fittingly called Wings and Feathers, respectively.

Kicking things off are pieces adorned with Tiffany’s latest flock of birds that take their cues from Schlumberger’s 1950s Flames earrings, meant to resemble solar flares in its appearance. That detail can be spotted in the textured wings on the birds throughout the collection, which are hand-sculpted in 18-karat gold and appear to burst outward in a dazzling array. Elsewhere on the avian design, you can spot chevron touches on the wing tips, body, and collar, along with diamonds of varying sizes.

As for the Feather high-jewellery lineup, those creations are inspired by the plumage of a bird’s collar—as you may expect given the name. It took nearly three years to bring the sculptural pieces to life, which mimic feathers using striking diamonds, platinum, and 18-karat gold. Rounding out the new offerings is Wings, which channels Schlumberger’s love of using multiple metals in a single design. The fine-jewellery collection includes a series of alternating wings, with three feathers each, in 18-karat gold and platinum on each creation. The lineup will have a necklace, rings, drop earrings, bracelet, and a pendant, too.

As we mentioned, Schlumberger’s now-iconic Bird on a Rock design took flight 61 years ago, when the designer was inspired by a yellow cockatoo he spotted on his journeys all over Asia and the Caribbean. The brooch itself featured his feather friend, done up in white and yellow diamonds, perched atop a cabochon lapis lazuli. Ever since, Tiffany has been breathing new life into the design throughout the decades through a variety of reinterpretations, and these latest pieces are just the next chapter in the Bird on a Rock’s story.
