More power, sharpened design, and digital innovations: Here’s what to expect from the new BMW M4 Competition Coupe and M4 Competition Convertible
BMW Asia has unveiled the latest iterations of its acclaimed M4 series: the BMW M4 Competition Coupe with M xDrive, and the BMW M4 Competition Convertible with M xDrive. These models promise enhanced power, refined design elements, and advanced digital innovations, solidifying their status as leaders in the premium midsize segment.
Lars Nielsen, managing director of BMW Group Asia, expressed his enthusiasm: “Authenticity and emotion are the defining hallmarks of the BMW M4. With these two new and powerfully designed elite sporting icons, we guarantee maximum driving dynamics and a captivating silhouette, perfect for the sporty, exclusive driver.”
Manufactured at the BMW Group Dingolfing plant, both models boast uncompromising dynamics for both daily drives and track performance. The design features include a large, vertical kidney grille with M-specific horizontal double slats, powerfully modelled wheel arches, and prominently black-gloss flared side sills. The coupe comes with a standard carbon reinforced plastic (CRP) roof, while the convertible offers a sophisticated panel bow soft-top roof, combining the benefits of a retractable hardtop with the aesthetics of a classic fabric roof.
Seen on the new BMW M4 models are redesigned adaptive LED headlights with anti-glare matrix high beams. The LED taillights incorporate laser technology, offering a visually and technologically impressive design. These enhancements, combined with a high-gloss black finish for the BMW logo and a silver surround for the M logo, elevates the exterior with subtle sophistication.
Inside, the cockpit flaunts a new steering wheel design, M Sport seats with multiple adjustment options, and high-quality interior trims in a carbon fibre finish. The coupe and convertible come with merino leather trim and full leather merino upholstery, respectively, ensuring a premium and comfortable driving experience.
Equipped with a straight six-cylinder engine that employs M TwinPower Turbo Technology, 530 hp and 650 Nm of torque is promised for a high-performance drive. 3.5 seconds is all it takes for the coupe to get to 100 km/h, while the convertible achieves the same in 3.7 seconds. Handling and agility is enhanced with a rear-wheel-biased setup and fully variable Active M differential, especially during dynamic cornering.
More than ever before, BMW combined exclusive sportscar flair with advanced digitalisation in these latest models. The BMW Curved Display, featuring a 12.3-inch digital display and a 14.9-inch control monitor, integrates the latest BMW Operating System 8.5. Standard features include BMW Live Cockpit Professional with navigation, Head-up Display, and smartphone integration. Advanced driver assistance systems, such as Front Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Parking Assistant Plus, ensure a safe and enjoyable driving experience.
Targeted customisation is made possible with the M Carbon exterior package, M Race Track package, and BMW Performance Parts. These options enhance the racing character and reduce vehicle weight, offering a tailored driving experience for discerning motorheads.
