A. Lange & Söhne introduces the Triple Split’s third act in platinum

By Alvin Wong 4 September, 2026

The new platinum edition arrives bearing a cooler, and more regal disposition

Since its debut in 2018, the A. Lange & Söhne Triple Split has stood alone. No other split-seconds chronograph can track intermediate, comparative and total elapsed time across a full 12 hours. The first version in white gold was followed by a pink-gold edition in 2021. With the latest iteration in platinum, Lange ups the ante on the watch’s statelines.

Limited to 100 pieces, it pairs a rhodié dial with dark grey sub-dials, luminous hour and minute hands, and blued rattrapante hands set against red accents on the hour and minute counters. Where its predecessors exuded a sense of warm elegance, this version expresses rich sobriety with the 43.2mm platinum case and dark brown alligator strap.

The engineering underneath hasn’t changed. The Calibre L132.1 drives three chronograph and three rattrapante hand pairs—for seconds, minutes and hours. A disengagement mechanism, patented in 2005, keeps friction from the stopped rattrapante hands off the going train, so accuracy holds even mid-measurement.

“Until today, the Triple Spilt plays in a league of its own,” says Anthony de Haas, Lange’s director of product development. “The L132.1 calibre that was entirely developed in our manufacture, is one of our most elaborate and equally most beautiful movements. The depth of the architecture calls for the utmost expertise, patience and dexterity, creating an extraordinary bond between the watchmaker and the movement.”
