The time is high for us to cross the causeway
If good things are worth the wait, then we are expecting to have a fabulous time at Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas after two years away. In line with the reopening of land borders between Singapore and Malaysia on 1 April, the luxury hotel is welcoming back its Singaporean guests with The Pool Villa Dream package (from RM3,949, S$1,270).
Choose between the one, two, or three-bedroom Lagoon Pool Villas. At 110 sqm, the first is spacious enough for a small family, yet feels appropriately intimate for a couple’s romantic getaway. The two-bedroom villa, at 164 sqm, can accommodate four adults and two children, while the largest 245-sqm three-bedroom option is meant for multigenerational families, social gatherings, and groups of friends.
Ensconced in tropical greenery so they feel like private paradises, the well-appointed villas feature interior design and architecture that reflect local sensibilities. Each comes with a private plunge pool and views of the lagoon and beach. Spend a few lazy hours by the pool with a cold drink in hand or retreat indoors, where the floor-to-ceiling windows let in plenty of natural light so you can admire the view in air-conditioned comfort.
Leave the worries of day-to-day living with the butler, who can be called upon to take care of every single detail, including meal planning. Anantara’s exceptional private dining options include Dining by Design, which creates bespoke culinary experiences in out-of-this-world settings; In-room Dining, in other words, 24-hour room service; and the In-villa Barbecue, which comes complete with a private chef.
If you wish to venture out of the villa, the resort has a plethora of dining options, including Turmeric, the all-day dining venue and Sea. Fire. Salt., its signature seafood and grill restaurant. The kids’ and teen clubs, movie screening under the stars, foodie tours in the old town, and day trips to the mangrove forest are just some activities that can be added to the itinerary.
The Pool Villa Dream package requires a minimum of two nights’ stay and includes breakfast, lunch and dinner at Turmeric Restaurant, once daily complimentary refill of the minibar, and a complimentary selection of resort activities. It’s available for stays until 15 December 2022.
