You’d think this would cause brands to shy away from unveiling anything new in anticipation. Yet, these recent weeks leading up to the annual watch fair have seen a number of refined and sophisticated timepieces come to the fore. Here are our top picks for the best watches of March 2025.

Hublot Big Bang Unico Magic Ceramic

Trust Hublot to push the envelope when it comes to material innovation. Limited to 20 pieces, the Hublot Big Bang Unico Magic Ceramic is the world’s first truly multi-coloured ceramic watch, a feat that took four years of research and development by Hublot’s R&D and materials and metallurgy teams to achieve.

Sporting a dark grey bezel adorned with rich blue polka dots, the 42mm ceramic timepiece catches the eye with its striking colours while remaining robust and light for daily wear. To achieve its pristine appearance, watchmakers had to go through a meticulous and arduous sinter and mould process for each pigment…read more

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Perpetual Calendar Calibre 7138

With Audemars Piguet celebrating its 150th anniversary, it was inevitable that watch enthusiasts would await the brand’s new releases with bated breath. The maison hasn’t disappointed.

The latest Royal Oak Selfwinding Perpetual Calendar may not seem too different from the brand’s tried-and-beloved icon at first glance. The 41mm timepiece, however, offered in stainless steel and 18k Sand Gold, hides a secret that elevates its horological prowess.

Powered by the maison’s new calibre 7138, the timepiece features an all-in-one crown that allows owners to adjust all of its perpetual calendar functions without the use of correctors. This feature eliminates the hassle of setting and adjusting the complication while ensuring a more robust water resistance due to the absence of recessed correctors on the sides of the case.

While the timepiece remains faithful to its iconic design language, the slight rearrangement of its subdials, as well as a vintage Audemars Piguet signature found on its moonphase display at 6 o’clock adds just a touch of freshness to the familiar look.

Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Tech BOC IV

Here’s a timepiece tied to a good cause. Throughout the years, Blancpain has periodically introduced limited-edition Fifty Fathoms Ocean Commitment timepieces to amplify its ocean conservation efforts. The Fifty Fathoms Tech BOC IV, limited to just 100 pieces, is the latest in this distinguished lineage. For each watch sold, €1,000 will be donated to the Blancpain x Sulubaaï Marine Research Center, funding the research and conservation efforts of fragile marine ecosystems.

While the timepiece sports many of the same design cues from the 2023 Fifty Fathoms 70th Anniversary Act 2 Tech Gombessa, this version comes in a smaller, more wearable 45mm case and features the standard 60-minute interval measurement capability.

Powered by the automatic calibre 1315A that boasts an impressive five-day power reserve, the timepiece is housed in a Grade 23 titanium case equipped with a helium escape valve…read more

Arnold & Son HM Steel Amber

With their unique lustre and nuanced colours, it’s no surprise that precious stones have become an increasingly popular dial material for watchmakers in recent years. The process of sourcing for the right stone and quality, however, is arduous and risky. Of course, when it all comes together, the aesthetic effects achieved are more than worth the hassle.

The Arnold & Son HM Steel Amber, with its striking yellow dial, embodies this sentiment. Made from a chunk of baltic amber, a material that takes thousands of years of fossilisation to form, the dial sports a unique shade of yellow, accentuated by subtle patterned streaks across its surface.

As a time-only timepiece, the HM Steel Amber’s dial is given centre stage, taking up major real estate while offering some hefty wrist presence, thanks to the thin bezel of its 39.5mm case. Powered by the A&S1001 calibre, the timepiece has a power reserve of 90 hours.

Bell & Ross once again ventures into the cosmos with its latest release, the BR-03 Astro. Drawing inspiration from space exploration, the limited timepiece integrates celestial motifs into its design.

The dial features a blue aventurine base, reminiscent of a starry night sky, with a central Earth depiction in relief. Time is displayed via a laser-engraved metal satellite indicating the seconds, the moon signifying the minutes, and a red representation of Mars pointing to the hours.

Housed in the brand’s iconic 41mm square case, the BR-03 Astro is crafted from micro-blasted black ceramic, offering a sleek look that contrasts well against the dial. Powered by the automatic BR-CAL.327 movement, based on the Sellita SW300-1, the timepiece has a 54-hour power reserve.
