Omega unveils the Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer in two versions

By Audrey Simon 21 March, 2025

For those who want a timepiece that has both style and performance, the Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer is the perfect choice

The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer combines innovative design, advanced technology, and versatility. Originally part of the Aqua Terra 150M range since 2017, the new Worldtimer features a 45.50 mm brushed black ceramic case, a laser-ablated diving scale, and a topographic map of the continents at its centre.

Taking design cues from the Planet Ocean Deep Black, the 45.50 mm case is crafted from black ceramic [ZrO2], with a matching ceramic bezel featuring a laser-ablated diving scale polished in positive relief. The dial includes a 24-hour indication, with a DLC black outer section adorned with a honeycomb pattern.

Available in two distinct colour variations, the vibrant turquoise varnished dial stands out with hands and indexes filled with white Super-LumiNova for enhanced readability. This design is complemented by a black rubber strap with turquoise stitching and a ceramic-and-ceramised titanium foldover clasp. For those who prefer a more understated look, the grey varnished model offers a grey Super-LumiNova and a black rubber strap with a contrasting grey underside.

Powering the timepieces is the automatic Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8938, visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. With a water resistance of 60 bar (600m / 2000ft), this watch is built for deep-sea exploration.

One of its outstanding features is the global destinations encircling the dial’s outer ring, allowing wearers to track time across multiple zones. This functionality makes the Worldtimer especially valuable for travellers and professionals who need to stay aware of time in different parts of the world.

At the centre of the watch, a laser-ablated depiction of Earth’s continents is intricately crafted on a grade 5 titanium surface, offering a view from above the North Pole. This detailed topographic map features a 24-hour indication beneath hesalite glass, distinguishing between night and day. Hesalite, a durable yet softer material, is highly resistant to shattering and was famously used in the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch due to its safety benefits—it does not produce sharp fragments if broken, making it ideal for space travel.
