Bvlgari Divas’ Dream is new high jewellery inspired by ancient Roman mosaics

By Audrey Simon 10 July, 2026

Inspired by the Caracalla Baths, Bvlgari’s iconic fan-shaped collection evolves with seven new pieces in mother-of-pearl, turquoise, rubellite, and pavé diamonds

The fan-shaped silhouette of Bvlgari Divas’ Dream is one of the maison’s most recognisable designs. Its origins lie in the mosaic floors of the Baths of Caracalla in Rome, the ancient thermal complex built in the early third century AD. Decorated with elaborate geometric patterns radiating from a central point, the mosaics have served as a recurring source of inspiration for Bvlgari, their architectural rhythm translated into one of the house’s most enduring jewellery motifs.

The 2026 collection is not a departure from the original design but an evolution of it. Seven new creations explore the signature fan-shaped motif through fresh materials and colour combinations while remaining faithful to the maison’s mosaic-inspired design language. The fine jewellery additions centre on mother-of-pearl, a material Bvlgari has long mastered. It appears across a suite of rings, bracelets, necklaces and a sautoir in pink gold, all built around the collection’s iconic silhouette, whose graceful curves echo the geometry of the ginkgo leaf.

Each mother-of-pearl element is double-sided and rounded with remarkable precision to catch the light from every angle. The pieces are designed to be appreciated in motion rather than displayed beneath a vitrine, their iridescent surfaces shifting with every movement, much like Roman marble illuminated by the late afternoon sun.

The mosaic craftsmanship creations introduce a bolder palette. Turquoise, chrysoprase and tanzanite are paired with pavé diamonds in a pendant necklace that can be worn short, at mid-length or as a sautoir, with the chain twisted to alter the way the gemstones fall against the body. Every stone is individually selected and cut to fit its precise position within the composition, creating a seamless interplay of colour and form.

The High Jewellery additions represent the collection at its most opulent. Necklaces and earrings combine rubellite, malachite, turquoise and amethyst in colour combinations that, by all rights, should compete. Instead, they harmonise with the same confidence as the ancient mosaics that inspired them. Richly textured chains, softly rounded cabochon gemstones and pavé diamonds create a striking dialogue between matte and brilliance, echoing the interplay of light and shadow found in the Caracalla mosaics themselves.
