Over the years, these suitcases have garnered a devoted clientele among discerning travellers who prise their distinctive aesthetics and unmatched functionality—a reputation that has led to the evolution of the aluminium travel essential in various forms. Case in point: The Original Bag, the Maison’s latest iteration of the icon, a unisex handbag that “epitomises the disruptive innovation and meticulous craftsmanship Rimowa is known for,” notes Hugues Bonnet-Masimbert, Chief Executive Officer of Rimowa.

Made in Germany, the hard-sided, lightweight handbag honours versatility and can be styled as a top-handle, shoulder, or crossbody accessory. True to Rimowa’s ethos, it features the brand’s iconic grooves, framing a silhouette softened by rounded edges. Its exterior also showcases an elegantly fashioned leather handle, secured by an innovative frame-reinforced structure, while a Rimowa-engineered button mechanism offers a seamless, intuitive closure. Inside, a spacious compartment reveals a thoughtfully designed interior, complete with a zipped pocket and card slots, all meticulously crafted from Italian-made leather.

To commemorate this debut, Rimowa has teamed up with Anomaly to present a campaign that speaks to aficionados of unparalleled craftsmanship and distinctive style.

Directed by filmmaker Jordan Hemingway, with imagery by Louise and Maria Thornfeldt, the campaign film captures the spirit of discovery through the labyrinth of city streets, where personal journeys twist and turn, filled with uncharted possibilities. The narrative follows four eclectic figures—supermodel Liu Wen, rapper Central Cee, journalist and creative director IB Kamara, and photographer Larissa Hofmann—as they navigate the rhythms of urban life, each armed with the Rimowa Original Bag in either silver or black. Set against the unmistakable beat of The Strokes’ ‘Last Nite,’ they embody a seamless blend of individuality and movement over a dynamic 24-hour journey.
