Make the weekend count with spirit-lifting cocktails at Nou Noodle Bar, Revolver and Stay Gold Flamingo
Nou Noodle Bar
What’s great: Brought to you by Petites Ventures (the same group behind Foxtail and Juice) and Petrina Loh (Morsels), Nou Noodle Bar is here to redefine traditional Asian dining, tossing in fun and creativity into the mix. You’ll be spending your night with a young and edgy crowd that likes noodles and dumplings as much as you do, and even more so, the cocktails.
What to order: At the bar you’d find Cheryl Tung, co-founder of Petites Ventures, and Bernardine Chan, head bartender, slinging delicious cocktails all night. We enjoyed the 3 Star Swizzle (rum, pineapple, fernet branca menta and mint) and Pink Frog (pomelo gin, three berry shrub, apple cider vinegar and egg white)—both fun and refreshing—and the Nougroni, an obvious choice if you like your negronis. If you are in sober company, the mocktails are just as well-thought-out and well-priced, too.
The food requires some honing, but there are a few dishes that do well. For instance, the Scallop Spinach Noodle, which comes with cured Hokkaido scallops, XO sauce and a satisfying shellfish broth; and the Alba Lamb Char Siew, made with Nou’s housemade char siew sauce.

Revolver
What’s great: The restaurant’s popular for its progressive South Asian cuisine, seasoned bold spices and punchy flavours, which one can experience in the form of a tasting menu, whether at lunch or dinner. There’s even a Private Experience Room, where special occasions call for a special menu, to be had among loved ones. It’s a place that cares about its drinks as much as its food, making Revolver a sure thing for a date that’s hard to impress.
What to order: The eight-course Experience menu and any of the eight cocktails on the menu. We enjoyed the El Diablo (mezcal, citrus, passion fruit syrup) and Tokyo Sour (Nikka From The Barrel, Japanese sour plum, ginger and citrus), but you do you.

Stay Gold Flamingo
What’s great: It’s hard to pin down on one thing, but let’s just say it has the whole package: good vibes, friendly staff, fun bites and solid cocktails. Founded by Jerrold Khoo and Bai Jiawei in 2021, the bar can be found on Amoy Street, right behind the café it runs in the day.
What to order: The current menu, dubbed That’s A Nice Jacket, features 20 creations that cater to one and all. Contributed by various members of the bartending team, the menu allows you to work your way up, from low-ABV to complex cocktails that push the boundaries of both tradition and alcohol limits. Highlights include the Shizu, a gin- and yuzu shiso-based highball, the Rajasthan Sour (rye, ghee, basil, clarified butter. lemon), and Harmony (bourbon, lapsang souchong, carpano secco). There’s an extensive list of spirits that range from gin, rum, agave and whisky, and don’t forget to eat. The Mala Quail Eggs, among many things, have been popular since day one.
